There is no shortage of restaurants in this Lone Star City that serve no-nonsense comfort foods and such American favourites as burgers, fries and steaks. For a state of the art five star encounter with Traditional American Cuisine the prime beef, steak and other carnivorous favourites served up at Remington's are sure to fit the bill. For inexpensive, classic American fare, the American Backstreet Cafe, Brennan's, Lucinda's Mark's, the Pig Stand #7 and This Is It are recommended choices.
For those who prefer a more creative approach to cooking, Chapultepec, Carmanba Mexican Grill & Salsa Club the Cadillac Bar serve up traditional favourites with a Mexican flair. If you like fusion cooking, some of the best restaurants in town are Ruggles Grill in Westheimer, Zula's or the Saba Blue Water Cafe which combine classic French cooking with Tex-Mex Cuisine.
Chef G's Seafood & Steakhouse is a very expensive Five-Star restaurant that serves up classic surf and turf.  For those who prefer ethnic cuisine, The Bombay Palace near Highland Village and the Anand Bhavan offer some of the best Indian cuisine in town including tandooris, paneers and spicy curries.
Popular Thai restaurants include the Kim Son Restaurant where a full meal can be had for fewer than five dollars and the Golden Room that is located in the hip Montrose District. The Chinese Cafe, a chain that has outlets all over Houston is a popular favourite among local fans of Asian food.
Houston has a reputation for daring to be grand, and the same can be said for its restaurants that serve up a creative mix of both regional and exotic cuisines.
